I Expect To Win

What on earth has happened at Kentucky,
I don't know who exactly is to blame,
Is it Billy G's disputes,
Or Tubby Smith's recruits,
In either case these losses are a shame,

It's one thing to lose games to Carolina,
Then get blown out at Indiana too,
But the loss to Gardner Webb,
Sure turned a lot of heads,
And left a lot of Wildcat fans feeling awful blue,

Something's got to change in Rupp Arena,
Cause the honeymoon is done for Billy G,
I'm pretty sure I've never ever seen a,
Team that's quite as bad in Kentucky's history,
Do we lack the skill or are we lazy,
For those who say my questioning's a sin,
Don't tell me that I'm just a fan gone crazy,
Cause I still love the Wildcats, it's just that I expect to win,

So you should understand this fan's frustration,
You see I used to love to watch the game,
That's why I've got to bitch,
And send my mail to Mitch,
Because I take a lot of pride in Kentucky's name,

I realize we've had some injured players,
And healthy guys who look like they can play,
But for the life of me,
It's freaking UAB,
We couldn't even win a game in Conference USA,

Something's got to change in Rupp Arena,
Cause the honeymoon is done for Billy G,
I'm pretty sure I've never ever seen a,
Team that's quite as bad in Kentucky's history,
Do we lack the skill or are we lazy,
For those who say my questioning's a sin,
Don't tell me that I'm just a fan gone crazy,
Cause I still love the Wildcats, it's just that I expect to win ...

This Is Next Year

Wait 'til next year's what I've been saying for as long as I recall,
Maybe next year we might be playing a little bit better ball,
I've got a Louisville fan who is my neighbor who constantly laughs at me,
I've got to work with a couple of Florida Gators who never feel sympathy,
So this one goes out to all the doubters who've mocked me through the years,
The Wildcats haven't looked much stouter, yeah, next year's finally here,
I know you might not bet on my prediction since I've been wrong before,
But I think this year's Cats are on a mission to even up some scores,

This is next year, It's finally here,
So proudly wear your blue and white, stand and help me cheer,
This is next year, It's finally here,
I can look my neighbor in the eye and truly be sincere,
Cause this is next year,

This is the year that the Big Blue fans have waited long to see,
This is the year Kentucky can make the world believe,
Another Woodson bomb to Keenan Burton might justify my case,
Or maybe Woodyard can just lay a hurting on an unsuspecting ace,
So I've called my friends from Tennessee and down at LSU,
Now I don't expect them to believe but I've told them it's the truth,
I sent the old ball coach in Carolina a message I composed,
Saying the Wildcats haven't been much finer and everybody knows that ...

Coach Billy G

From Ashland to Paducah, there's a new king in town,
A hero's come from Texas to inherit the crown,
From Covington to Williamsburg, his name's already known,
Even though he hasn't spent much time sitting on his throne,
He's been riding the recruiting trails signing up some stars,
He's been spending time in hotels, airplanes, and cars,
He's been stocking up our roster through the year 2010,
With a single minded mission to do nothing but win,

There's a brand new king of the Bluegrass state,
And I'm glad it isn't Billy D,
So thank you Mitch for skipping E and F,
And finding Coach Billy G,

From Pikeville to Princeton, and cities in between,
Enthusiasm's building for the man from Abilene,
I hate to tell Pitino but even Louisville too,
Is trading in their red and black for Kentucky blue,
We've heard about examples of his never ending zeal,
By calling crackers and Dr. Pepper a good meal,
If ever there's been anyone that's truly born to be,
The leader of the Wildcats, it's Coach Billy G,

Yeah, thank you Mitch for skipping E and F,
And finding Coach Gillispie ...

True Blue

I was at the Alabama game in 1997,
When the goalposts came down, I was in Big Blue Heaven,
Tim Couch to Craig Yeast for the winning touchdown score,
Kicked off a celebration like I've never seen before,
But I recall the Peach Bowl in 1993,
When Pookie Jones almost led the Cats to victory,
If only we had held on to that intercepted throw,
Clemson would have never scored with seconds left to go,

True Blue, I still love the Wildcats,
True Blue, I still believe,
True Blue, I've been there through the heartbreak,
And I'll be there when we win the SEC,

I made the trip to Papa John's in 1998,
To watch the Air Raid crush the Cards and watch them dominate,
In a record setting year when we finally reached our goal,
To play on New Year's Day in the Outback Bowl,
But I recall a bitter loss that was awfully tough,
When 7 interceptions weren't quite enough,
Cause Florida's Doering caught the ball on the final play,
To give the game to Spurrier and take our win away,

I remember our success in 1984,
With a Hall of Fame Bowl win by a 20-19 score,
We beat Wisconsin there to cap off a 9 win year,
Back when Jerry Claiborne and Bill Ransdell were here,
I was at Commonwealth in 2002,
When we thought Lorenzen had beaten LSU,
There stood Guy Morris doused in Gatorade,
Looking at the craziest Hail Mary ever made,

I endured a game that lasted half the night,
When we battled Arkansas in an epic fight,
I recall the devastation after 7 overtimes,
When we came up inches short at the goal line,
I've stayed here all the times that our program has been down,
And I've watched Rich Brooks turn this thing around,
Cause I still believe and I can't wait to see,
The Big Blue in the BCS, how sweet it's going to be ...

We Love Rich Brooks Dot Com

It's time to take down the website because it's not right,
Fire Rich Brooks dot com,
I'm sure there's some Rich Brooks somewhere who really don't care,
About doing his job,
But the Rich Brooks who's coaching the Kentucky Wildcats,
Has brought us back from the dead,
We need to build a new web page and start up a new age,
That we can visit instead,

We Love Rich Brooks dot com is the website to bookmark to show our pride and support,
Cause he's created excitement that's usually reserved for the basketball court,
So in this upcoming season let's fill up the stadium, I think we all can agree,
That Rich has the vision and we're on a mission to win the SEC,

There have been other coaches who've used smoke and mirrors to somehow make us believe,
But it never took long for SEC teams to catch on to such trickery,
But Rich Brooks has put us on solid foundation that will not easily shake,
He's been nothing but honest, he clearly informed us how many years it would take,

Many seasons from now we'll fondly remember that Georgia Bulldog win,
But the best thing about it is how we get to do it over and over again,
Someone might mention that bowl game with Clemson as our initial success,
It got the ball rolling cause the Big Blue is going to the BCS ...

I Bleed Blue

I remember staying up late when I was a boy,
Listening to Cawood with my Dad,
I remember picturing the game inside the radio,
We wanted the Cats to win so bad,
I remember staying awake excited half the night,
After a big Kentucky win,
And I remember fighting back tears when we lost,
I still do every now and then cause,

I Bleed Blue, through and through,
I was born and raised a Wildcat, it's all I ever knew,
I Bleed Blue, through and through,
I love my old Kentucky home, let me tell you what I do,
I Bleed Blue,

I've heard about the legend of the Baron Adolph Rupp,
How he won 4 NCAAs,
I've heard about the Fab Five and the story of Rupp's Runts,
And all the great players of those days,
I recall the title that was won by Joe B. Hall,
When the Goose dropped 41 on Duke,
And I can't forget the Unforgettables,
And how my heart broke in '92,

I watched Pitino lead us to the promised land,
Then Tubby ruled in '98,
And I'll be there shouting "Go Big Blue" again,
When Billy G wins number 8 ...
