Reverse The Madden Curse

It started back in '99 when a cover shot seemed so benign,
For a San Francisco 49er named Garrison Hearst,
Then he turned up with a broken bone like a story off the Twilight Zone,
And thus began what now is known as the Madden Curse,
Fast forward just a couple years when Eddie George displayed no fears,
And risked the rest of his career to be on the game,
Then he turned up with an injured toe that made him hurt and made him slow,
And little did the Titans know, he'd never be the same,

It's the ominous story that's repeated every season,
If a player's after glory, then he has every reason,
To refuse the voodoo cover art that makes the players worse,
Maybe Vince Young can somehow start to Reverse the Madden Curse,

The curse was evil, cruel, and quick when it acted out on Michael Vick,
In a clever crafty double trick in 2004,
His leg was broken on a dime leaving him with lots of time,
To carry out his canine crime which led to even more,
But for the skeptic dissidents the curse remained just as intense,
Causing Seahawk fans to wince just last year,
Shaun Alexander's fractured foot occurred after EA had put,
Him on the Madden cover in a picturesque premiere,

Maybe Madden's mystic spell won't hit the same team twice,
And since Eddie George already fell his anguish will suffice,
To appease the gods of Madden and decode the mystery,
No there is no need for adding to the curse in Tennessee ...
