Yesterday (Mike Shanahan Tribute)

Yesterday I watched the Broncos and the Chargers play,
And I thought Shanahan was there to stay,
But a lot can change in just a day,

Suddenly I saw the news report on my TV,
Pat Bowlen said that Mike was history,
It doesn't seem quite right to me,

Why Mike had to go, I don't know, they wouldn't say,
This team was not strong like it was with Elway,

Yesterday Mike couldn't find a defense that could play,
That's probably why he isn't there today,
At least that's what his critics say,

Now today as Mike is packing up to go away,
Much worse coaches live another day,
But expectations made him pay,

Now Mike has to go to some team to save the day,
While the Broncos hope for a coach to come their way,
