Junior Griffey

I remember how he dazzled when he started in Seattle,
As the greatest talent we had ever seen,
He was naturally producing with no anabolic juicing,
And still getting by on pure ability,
When he came to Cincinnati all the hometown fans were glad he,
Took less money to play baseball for the Reds,
Cause he could have been a Yankee but apparently I think he,
Wants to win in the Queen City instead,

He's the greatest home run hitter that baseball should consider,
Who has never stuck a needle in his thigh,
No the arguments not iffy when the answer's Junior Griffey,
To the question who's the greatest of our time,
Not Bonds or McGwire,
Sosa and Palmeiro don't inspire,
There's just one, it's Junior Griffey,

Though it takes a while for mending with a torn patellar tendon,
He still refused to turn to HGH,
An aspirin's all he's taking when his banged up knees are aching,
And he won't go out as just a DH,
So let's hope for healthy seasons for a million simple reasons,
He's the kind of player baseball needs to see,
In a world that's full of cheaters and so short on good leaders,
Don't forget the best, it's Junior Griffey ...
